AAA Constitution

A draft revised Constitution for the AAA Ltd is now available.  The approval process for the document is that it be listed as a Special Resolution at the AGM in March 2017. Click Here for a copy of the document.

Halter Handler Membership

3yo & Over Led Versatility High Point Award 

As from the 1st August 2016, we will be recognising those horses who are 3yo & over competing in Led Events. These will be recognised for both Lifetime Awards and End Of Year High Point Awards.

Beginner Classes now recognised

As from 1st August 2016, the AAA Ltd will be recognising Beginner Classes for those AAA Ltd Members who are starting out with their Appaloosa in Performance Classes at Regional Club and Recognised Shows.

Supreme All Breeds Halter Points

Where a show offers Supreme All Breeds or Supreme Halter Horse of the Show, you will now be able to obtain points from this event. You will receive 2 Points if there are 3 or more in the class. These points will count towards Overall High Point Halter Horse of Australian and Lifetime Awards, i.e. ROM's, etc.

Appaloosa Pedigree Recognition Registry (APR)

Information and Forms are now available for the Appaloosa Pedigree Recognition (APR) Registry.

This is a fantastic additional registry for the AAA Ltd to recognise those Registered Appaloosa Horses that are either 15/16th or 7/8th Appaloosa Bred.

Membership for First Time Owners

Have you just purchased your first Appaloosa, never been a member of the AAA before and are wanting to either Register it or Transfer the Ownership into your name?

If you answered yes, then you may not be aware that you are eligible for First Time Owners Membership to the Association.

Regional Appaloosa Club Reminder

    • It is mandatory for ALL Youth to wear an Approved Safety Helmet (AS/NS 3838) and appropriate riding boots to be worn at ALL TIMES with the exception of Western Events.
    • In Leadline events, the horse, must be led and controlled by an adult who is over 18 years of age. Horses Must be 4yrs or Older.
    • In Leadline events Western or English attire is permitted as long as both handler and rider are dressed in the same attire.
    • Youth are not permitted to Handle/Ride/Exhibit Colts/Stallions of any age at AAA Ltd Approved shows.
    • The gate in a Youth Walk/Jog trail event is an optional obstacle at the discretion of the judge.
    • Youth Competing in 13 & U Walk/Jog classes can compete 1 or 2 hands on the rein irrespective of the age of the horse.
    • Spurs are optional in this age group.
    • Western: Spurs must be of western style with a blunt end, ball or small blunt rowel with shank pointing only to the rear and no longer than 3.5 cm.
    • English: Spurs must be English style with a blunt or ball end with shank pointing only to the rear and no longer then 3.5cm.
