At the 2026 National Show, we are honoured to introduce a very special new award in memory of the outstanding Appaloosa gelding, “Ed” Minember Grand Finale.
A true multi-National Champion, Ed was a standout in Dressage, Hack and Traditional English, admired for his presence, performance and heart in every arena. This memorial award celebrates the same talent and distinction.
How To be Eligible:
To be in contention for the Memorial Award, competitors must:
- Compete in All Age Suitability for Dressage
- Compete in at least one Ridden Dressage test
How It Will Be Scored:
This is a collective score-based award, recognising overall performance across the program:
- Placings in All Age Suitability for Dressage will receive points (6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1).
- All Dressage test scores (Prelim, Novice, Amateur & Youth) will be ranked highest to lowest and allocated points (6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1).
- Competitors may enter multiple tests; however, only the highest-scoring test per horse/rider combination will count toward the Memorial.
- The horse and rider combination with the highest collective points will be awarded the Minember Grand Finale Dressage Memorial for 2026.
The Prize:
The winner will be presented with a gorgeous trophy rug and rosette, generously donated by owner Sonja Bowden and Niki Vaughn. This award is a meaningful tribute to an unforgettable gelding and a wonderful opportunity to showcase our Appaloosas in Dressage and our Dressage program at Nationals.
